The DWELL on DESIGN SHOW 2011
From the 2011 Dwell on Design Show – June 24 -4 26 LA Convention Center
A draw right in to the exhibit hall is Molo Design’s flexible soft walls and light fixtures. The urchin floor lights and cloud chandeliers personify modern whimsy and look more refined than their accordion paper shells should.
There were oodles of inspiring outdoor living products; Bocabolo puts a modern spin on wood slatted furniture—nice lines, Architect Eugene Stoltzfus’™ solid cork stools and lumber benches represent the best of minimalist modern design with sustainable products, and Potted’s Garden Sphere’s are stunners. Lucky for us the Potted store is right here in Los Feliz.
Overall the show was fairly successful in living up to this years’ tag line “Go Big. Find Design.”
Yes, there was lots of creative design from skate boards covered in woven Asian silks, my spin art trade show favor in zero VOC paint (thank you YOLO Colorhouse—matches my retro kitchen tile Oh so Good!), and for those in a family way…mod kids stuff – beyond cute!
The annual home and design show from the folks at Dwell Magazine features product categories: Furniture & Accessories, Kitchen and Bath, Dwell Outdoor, Building Materials, Energy Resources, and Modern Family. If you missed it this year – be sure to put it on your calendar for 2012.
